ESPN.com reported that Hekkers deal is worth $18 million and contains $9 million in guaranteed money, the largest ever given to a kicker or punter. Hekker, 24, was set to become a restricted free agent after the 2014 season. The undrafted Oregon State product signed with the Rams prior to the 2012 campaign. In 2013, Hekker earned All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors after setting an NFL single-season record for net punting average at 44.2 yards. His career net average is 42.1 yards.
