Toto Wolff has warned Ferraris raw performance is pushing Mercedes after Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel secured an impressive one-two in Practice Two. Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton dominated the first practice session at the Chinese GP and looked to be doing so again later on Friday, before the Scuderia showed their pace on the supersoft compound.Raikkonen clocked a 1:36.896, just over a tenth faster than his team-mate, which was quicker than any time set in all three practice sessions last season. While Ferrari have struggled with the reliability of the SF16-H during the early part of 2016 their race pace looks strong, all-but matching Mercedes in Australia and Bahrain on the longer stints. P2: Ferrari outpace Mercedes Kimi Raikkonen led a Ferrari one-two in Practice Two - report Still, Maurizio Arrivabene was keeping his feet on the ground, stating they are battling the greatest team of the last decade in the Silver Arrows. We had a good Friday, not a bad one, the Ferrari team principal said. Unfortunately youre not gaining position on the grid or points in the championship. Its a good start but the weekend is still long.I can say that the Mercedes team of this year is the strongest one we have seen in the last 10 years. To be able to win against them you have to work and to be better than them. Even so, we are doing our best to have a good result. David Croft and Paul Di Resta take you through all the headlines from Fridays Practice; and theres interviews with Massa, Vettel and Raikkonen Mercedes chief Wolff, sitting next to the Italian in the team principals press conference, laughed at the notion. Before answering the question Id like to give the flowers back, he said. They are pushing us very hard. You have seen today, its raw performance.Mercedes Paddy Lowe echoed Wolffs warning and is expecting a tight battle: Were very close with Ferrari on both single lap and long run pace across all three tyre compounds, so we look set for an exciting weekend.Raikkonen: Ferrari speed is thereFerrari have already fallen 50 points behind reigning champions Mercedes in the constructors standings after losing one car to reliability in each of the first two races. Raikkonen dropped out at the Australian GP after a turbo failure caused an airbox fire, while Vettel did not even take the start in Bahrain after his car started trailing smoke on the formation lap.But Wolff believes these failures simply come as a result of their giant stride forward in terms of competing with his team.We have seen that raw performance in the last couple of races, the Austrian added. They havent been able to pull it all together because they made another big step from 2015 to 2016, similar to the step of 2014 to 2015, in order to have the package to deliver and be reliable. That is obviously not an easy task. Whens the Chinese GP on Sky? All the broadcast times you need for this weekends exclusively live race Down to sheer performance they are really pushing us. That is good, that is what competition is about.Nico Rosberg, the quickest Mercedes driver on Friday, agreed the red threat was rising: It looks like we are quick here again - but in the afternoon we saw that Ferrari are also very quick, so we are definitely looking out for them and well have a bit homework to do tonight.Despite trailing his team-mate in both sessions, Hamilton wasnt too despondent and is predicting tyre wear to create a dramatic race on Sunday. Its not been a bad day. I didnt feel too comfortable with the car this morning but the team made some changes over lunch and it was much better in the second session, he said. The weather has been surprisingly warm but with a lot of wind, which made it quite difficult out there through the high-speed corners. Were seeing already that tyre degradation will be a big factor this weekend, which is pretty normal for this circuit but definitely something to watch out for on Sunday. As well as giving us an indication of their fine one-lap speed, Ferrari also seemed to be close to Mercedes when it came to longer race stints in practice. Raikkonen, however, said he wasnt comfortable on any tyre apart from the supersofts. The Finn said: It felt very slippery. With the supersoft it improved a bit, but nowhere near ideal.I only used the medium in the morning and it didnt feel very good. But the softs didnt feel very good. The supersoft was the best, but it is too early to say.Watch the Chinese GP weekend - LIVE ONLY on Sky Sports F1. The race starts at 7am on Sunday, with build-up underway from 5.30am. They certainly turned around their recent fourth-quarter play Saturday night in a 120-99 win over the Denver Nuggets. "Teams know that were going to play hard and, regardless of our record, were going to be a tough out," said guard Mike Conley, who had 14 points. "Weve always been a thorn in the side of a lot of teams. Hopefully, were starting to get back to that." Zach Randolph scored 20 points and the Grizzlies got 62 points from their bench as six Memphis players finished in double figures. Ed Davis led the reserves with 17 points, hitting 6 of 8 shots, while Jerryd Bayless had 15 points. James Johnson matched Conley with 14 points, and Mike Miller added 11, connecting on 3 of 5 outside the arc. Memphis sent the Nuggets to their sixth straight loss -- the longest Denver losing streak since a six-game skid in December, 2004. "There are a lot of things that we can take away from this game, and the five games before that," said Nuggets forward Wilson Chandler, who finished with 19 points. "If we want to win, we have to play harder, thats what is all comes down to." The 120 points were a season high for Memphis, and only two less than the most the Nuggets have allowed in a game this season. The teams had played six straight games where the winning margin was single digits, and Saturdays win was the most lopsided Grizzlies victory in the series history. Ty Lawson led the Nuggets with 20 points, while Jordan Hamilton scored 12. "It was a thorough ripping all the way through," Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said, later adding: "After we had a pretty decent first half, we gave up 30 points in the third quarterr and 35 points in the fourth quarter.dddddddddddd You are not going to win any games, especially on the road, against any team giving up numbers like that." The Grizzlies led by seven early in the final period before a 21-5 burst that included 3-pointers by Conley, Miller and Bayless gave them a 23-point lead. "We turned defence into offence," Conley said. "That was the biggest thing. We got out into transition, and we got easy 3s, pull up 3s. We had drive-and-kick layups and dunks." Memphis, which is playing without centre Marc Gasol and reserve wingman Quincy Pondexter due to injuries, trailed 56-55 at halftime. But the Nuggets began showing the fatigue of playing on the second night of a back-to-back in the third. Denver committed a handful of turnovers in the period, while connecting on 6 of 19 shots from the field. Meanwhile, Randolph was working inside to help Memphis build its first double-digit lead of the night. He scored 10 points in the third, leading Memphis to an 85-72 advantage entering the fourth. Memphis has won three of its last four. "At one point, we were struggling badly," Davis said. "I dont know how many we lost in a row, but the only thing we could do was win, and thats what we have to do the rest of the season." NOTES: The game marked the return of Darrell Arthur to Memphis, but the Nuggets forward didnt play because of a right quadriceps contusion. Arthur, who spent his first five seasons in Memphis, was traded in the off-season for C Kosta Koufos. ... The Nuggets, who lost Friday night to the New Orleans Pelicans, are now 1-5 in the second game of back-to-backs. ...
